Winter fun in Revelstoke

Revelstoke is full of winter activities for all ages and skill levels. One of the most peaceful, energizing and inspirational activities that you can take part in is the night skiing at the Revelstoke Nordic Ski Club. The lights are run by solar, light up 6km of trail and make for an evening unlike any other.

The Revelstoke Nordic Ski Club dates back to 1891 and is run by dedicated volunteers. Revelstoke is famous for our huge snowfalls – averaging 350 cm per year measured at valley bottom. The Nordic Ski trails are located on the magnificent Mount Macpherson with about 26 km of groomed trails on an easterly aspect.

Mount Macpherson has a large parking lot and lodge at the base of the mountain. Ole Sandberg Cabin is located 2.5 km from the parking area and houses a wood stove and first aid supplies. The Nordic Club also offers lessons and rentals.

If you’re not up for a ski, snowshoeing is also available on all of the Mount Macpherson trails as well as around the Revelstoke Greenbelt, in Revelstoke National Park, or up at Rogers Pass in Glacier National Park. Remember if you’re traveling in the back country, be sure to go prepared and trail safe. Always check out Avalanche Canada before heading out. Not sure where to start? Book a tour with the Revelstoke Snowshoe Company.
